Moto's new G and E series - All you need to know
Recently Lenovo unveiled their budget ranged new G and E series that is the 6th and 5th series of this lineup respectively, and they have come out with bucket lots of phones namely Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 Play, Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 Play to confuse all the consumers.
Well the G series is for those customers who look for value for money with better processor and camera and a good to average performance in all the department while the E series is mainly focused on those consumers who need higher battery capacity and they can compromise on the other aspects and both the G and E series are in the budget segment.
Further for each series, there is a play edition and a plus edition and a normal edition. The play edition is the base variant with low price with average performance and the normal G6/E5 edition is next to play which has a mediocre performance and the plus version is the higher end which is costlier when compared to the other two and has better performance in all the aspect.
In the era of 18:9 and 19:9 displays Lenovo is no different from others even they have jumped into this for their budget line up both the G6 and G6 plus has the 18:9 5.9 inches Full HD display for the G6 plus and 5.7 inches Full HD display for the G6 and a 5.7 inches HD plus display for the play edition.
Under the hood G6 plus is powered by the Snapdragon 630 and G6 is powered by the Snapdragon 450 and G6 play is powered by the Snapdragon 427. Talking about the RAM and the storage G6 plus has 4 GB RAM & 64 GB storage G6 has 3/4 GB RAM & 32/64 GB storage and G6 play has 2/3 GB RAM & 16/32 GB storage.
Coming to the camera department both G6 plus and G6 has a dual camera setup of 12MP and 5MP and an 8MP front camera with a flash and G6 play has a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
G6 plus is powered by 3200 Mah battery and G6 is powered by 3000 Mah battery and G6 play is powered by 4000 Mah battery which was a weird option that will confuse the customers more.
All three of them have a fingerprint scanner in them. Both G6 plus and G6 has a USB-C type port but the play edition has a USB-B type port. Talking about the pricing G6 plus is priced at $300 and G6 is priced at $250 and G6 play is priced at $199.
Looking at the specs and features and their price they don't look that appealing when compared to their competitors like Xiaomi. The phone is not yet launched in India and soon it is expected to be launched. If they price it competitively that is the only way they can stay up in the race.
This is quite boring series where there are not many interesting aspects other than the battery capacity.
