Deja vu explained.
In this world filled with mysteries everywhere "deja vu" is one among that. Have you ever experienced deja vu?
Well, deja vu literally means already seen. So while having some conversation with your friends, sometimes you might have felt that already felt that the whole scene has taken place before this effect is called as deja vu.
So let's see why and how does this happen.
Deja vu is usually related with people having epilepsy. But a study shows that nearly 2/3rd of the normal human being has experienced this effect at least once in their lifetime.
So why does this occur or is it a supernatural power that we have. Well, there are three main reasons behind this effect.
1. Delay in nervous system
2. Dual processing
Now coming to the first point delay in the nervous system which means while observing something with full attention sometimes our nervous system may lag like a computer. So the message sent to your brain through your eyes may be delayed. Which means the message through your right or left eye reaches the brain first and get processed before the other side. So this will result in deja vu.
Talking about the second point, dual processing is another important factor for deja vu. This means when two things are being processed by the brain simultaneously, sometimes it becomes out of sync and you will start retrieving memory similar to that exact scenario. This also results in deja vu.
The last and the important factor is familiarity. It means that when you go to some place you may see an object or a particular thing which is very much similar to that you have seen before somewhere else. Now you may think then why we don't get deja vu frequently. The study says that in addition to those things which are similar, the atmosphere should also be similar to which you have experienced before.
These are the main reasons why a person gets deja vu and it is not a supernatural power.
