Day by day as we have said in some of our blogs that "The budget oriented phones are getting powerful or it can be also said as powerful phones getting cheaper"-MKBHD
So, according to that statement again Qualcomm has come up with a new improved and powerful budget oriented chip in its 400 series line up it is the new Snapdragon 450 SOC. Basically, the 400 series is targeted to power the low-end phones so is the 450 and it is the upgraded and powerful version of 435.
Talking about the performance and core configuration the new Snapdragon is an Octa-core processor with 8 Cortex A53 cores and it is expected to have a clock speed of 1.8GHz which is high when compared to 1.4GHz in the previous generation And it is said to have a 25 % increase in performance.
The major difference, when compared to 435, is the size of the chip. Snapdragon 450 is built on 14nm find fabrication technology, which means high power efficiency and better battery life. It is said to have Adreno 506 GPU, which is again 25% increase in performance when compared to its previous generation.
Coming to the camera department now it can support 13MP+13 MP which is a huge bump when compared to 8MP+8MP when compared to its previous generation.
Other special new features included are now it supports
Quick Charge 3,
Iris scanner, which is new feature in this series.
All the other features are same when compared to its previous generation
Though the chip supports all these features it is highly doubtful whether the smartphone industry will use this option as it is a budget oriented chip for budget oriented phones.
Coming to the availability it is expected to be available in smartphones by the end of 2017. So we may expect that by next year even low-end budget-oriented phones gets better performance.
